“WHAT HAPPENS WHEN NO ONE IS THERE?” (May 1, 2018 update)
Once upon a time, there was a great Captain Named Daniel Mhlanga, who was responsible for guarding and caring for the great House of Lokuthulu.
The great House Lokuthula was big, and strong and beautiful. Captain Daniel guarded it against bandits, and kept it spotlessly clean and in order. He was very proud.
Then a neighboring tribe told him of mischief in the great House while the Masters were away for the day.
What could it be? This destruction and evil raid. Who would do such a thing to such a beautiful and majestic structure?
Mirrors were smashed, belongings angrily scattered in total chaos. The finest food in the House was carted off as booty. Nothing was left unturned. A horrible fight must have ensued.
Well...the real story is this...
At breakfast, the Congress of Baboons came to look the house over, but they did not enter because Wayne and Janco (2 males) were there.
As soon as we all left our chalet, the whole troop scurried up on the thatch roof, unzipped the canvas and entered CJ’s bedroom. Then they proceeded to “Party Down Baboon Style.” They jumped on beds, tore into clothes and emptied out cupboards. Next they raided and ate all our snack foods, down to biting into CJ’s pill bottles trying to also eat her medication. They broke a large mirror and emptied all waste baskets.
People in the neighboring Chalet heard the ruckus and ran over to chase them away. After seeing the horrible aftermath, they went to the office, told the Manager, Daniel Mhlanga. Daniel immediately called in the cleaning crew, who miraculously got it all cleaned up before our team returned home.
Sadly, though we lived there, we were not invited to the party. Everything was returned to normal and our work carried on.
Until next time... with love from the Bush.
Sidney
